Police arrest two persons with illegal weapons



KATHMANDU: The Metropolitan Crime Branch today arrested two persons carrying illegal weapons.

A team led by inspector Bhola Bhatt arrested Bikesh Pandit of Nuwakot from Balaju Machhapokhari along with two pistols, two magazines and 10 rounds of bullets.

It has been revealed that Amar Tamang, who was released after serving his sentence in the arms robbery case, had asked Pandit to keep the illegal arms. Police have also arrested Tamang.

Tamang, on the other hand, said that the weapon belonged to Shambhu Karki of Dhunsha while he was in jail. Chief of the Division, SSP Deepak Thapa said further investigation is underway.
