Inland Revenue Department collects Rs 400 billion revenue



KATHMANDU: The Inland Revenue Department has collected around Rs 400 billion in revenue in the last fiscal year 2019/20.

The department has collected revenue of Rs 384.31 billion including income tax, value added tax, excise duty and education service fee in the last fiscal year which is seven percent more than the previous year.

In the previous fiscal year 2018/19, the department had collected a total of Rs 358.41 billion. It has collected Rs 26 billion more revenue in the last fiscal year as compared to the previous fiscal year.

Out of the collected revenue, Rs 217.26 billion has been collected as income tax, Rs 98.22 billion as value added tax and Rs 64.79 billion as excise duty.

In addition, the department has collected revenue of Rs 4.4 billion including education tax and others.
