Nepali movie ‘A Year of Cold’ wins 75,000 Euro prize



KATHMANDU: Filmmaker Min Bahadur Bham’s new film ‘A Year of Cold’ has won a cash prize of 75,000 Euros for the script. The award was given by TRT 12 Punto Script Lab of Turkey for the script of the film.

The film, co-produced by Nepal and Turkey, tells the story of a Tibetan woman’s struggle to find a husband.

She is pregnant. When her husband Pema suddenly disappears, she goes in search of her husband and the story goes on.

This is not the first international award the film has won. Earlier, the film had been awarded at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival in Paris. He received 60,000 US dollars for making the film.

Similarly, in 2018, he won 6,000 Euros at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

In the early stages of writing, the film also received funding at the CineFundation Residence, Busan Festival.
