Doctor infected with coronavirus for the first time in Nepal



KATHMANDU: One out of the five new COVID-19 cases in the Kathmandu Valley is said to be a doctor working at the Department of Health Service.

There had been five new cases in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur on Tuesday.

According to the Joint Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari, the case in Lalitpur is a doctor working at Epidemiology and Disease Control Division under the Department of Health Services, Kathmandu.

The doctor was involved in contact tracing and sample collection of the infected people.

Out of those five cases of coronavirus, Kathmandu has three whereas Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have one each.

It is the first COVID-19 case in a doctor though three nurses working in different parts of the country were diagnosed with the pandemic earlier.
