House endorses policies and programs for FY 2020/21

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives on Tuesday endorsed the government’s policies and program for the fiscal year 2020/21 presented by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday with a majority votes.

The policies and programs was passed after the amendment proposals of lawmakers Durga Poudel, Minendra Prasad Rijal and others were rejected by the majority.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota announced that the policies and programs was passed by a majority vote. A total of 106 parliamentarians had participated in the discussion on the policies and programs held on Sunday and Monday.

Earlier, Prime Minister KP Oli responded to the questions raised by the lawmakers on the government’s policies and programs.

The policies and programs aims to make the economy productive, prevent damage to social life, establish a healthy, educated and dynamic social life in the field of health education and complete the transformational project started by the government on time.

As per the policies and program, the priority of the government is to curb wasteful spending, maintain financial discipline, invest to end unemployment, provide employment at home to those who have lost foreign employment, control corruption and promote good governance, and make Nepal a coronavirus-free country.

Various political parties and leaders have been criticizing the government’s policies and programs for not being effective.
