KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has assured of constructing the Lapsifedi-Ratmatae transmission line and other infrastructure mentioned in the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact at any cost.

He reiterated his stance of endorsing the MCC tabled by the incumbent government in the parliament.

“Questions were raised alleging the government making efforts to endorse the MCC Compact from back-doors,” PM Oli said, adding, “Be assured, everything will happen from the front door.”

“We will construct the Lapsifedi-Ratmatay transmission line – the country’s identity – at any cost,” he told the parliament while furnishing answers to the lawmakers’ questions.

Even though the incumbent government tabled the MCC Compact in the parliament, PM Oli said the agreement was made by the previous government, adding, “We cannot leave the work initiated by the previous governments. It’s our responsibility to accomplish it.”

PM Oli said the country will undergo problems if the agreements made by the previous governments are not continued adding that the government would hold discussions with the political parties, lawmakers and others in this regard.

Meanwhile, Oli challenged lawmakers to find the term MCC in the government’s policies and programs presented by the government last week.
