KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is answering the questions raised by the lawmakers over the government’s policies and programs in the federal parliament today.

Prime Minister Oli said the government has been rendering efforts so as not to let the people lose their lives to Coronavirus pandemic.

Answering the questions, Prime Minister Oli said even though two people died in Nepal so far they might have died due to the other causes, too.

But we have to accept Coronavirus as the cause behind their death even though the real cause might be something else as per the provision of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Meanwhile, he assured that the government will make quarantine camps more effective and provide good treatment to those kept in quarantine.

He further said the virus that was seen in the people who came to Nepal from India is more acute than the one in the people who entered Nepal from Italy and China.

Lawmakers have raised questions on the policies and programs of the government tabled by President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

Prime Minister Oli will address the lawmakers’ questions over the government’s policies and programs raised in the parliament meetings on Monday and Sunday.

The main opposition Nepali Congress has demanded seven amendments to the government’s policies and programs.

The government’s policies and programs for the fiscal year 2020/21 will be presented in the parliament meeting for endorsement once the prime minister answers the questions raised by the lawmakers.

Similarly, Law Minister Shiva Maya Tumbahamphe will float a proposal seeking revival of some legal provisions and scrapping of some ordinances in the meeting, according to Dr Bharat Raj Gautam, General Secretary of the Federal Parliament.
