KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a foreign national who entered the Embassy of Japan premises at Panipokhari in Kathmandu by jumping over the wall on Sunday.

No sooner had the person, claiming to be Chinese national, jumped over the nearly 5-meter-tall wall, security personnel at the Embassy caught him and informed the police.

The police then arrested the Chinese national with the coordination of the embassy.

The person has been taken to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for his health check-up.

Further investigations will be carried out after receiving his medical reports, police said.

Police, however, said the person’s nationality is yet to be confirmed.
