DANG: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has termed the widely-talked Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the US- proposed development initiative, as positive for Nepal.

Speaking at a program at Tulsipur, Dang on Sunday, NC President Deuba claimed the MCC was the ever-largest US assistance proposal for Nepal and that it should not be disapproved.

He claimed that the MCC agreement reached between Nepal and the US governments was aimed at increasing investment and accelerate the pace of economic development in the country.

Deuba claimed that as the US Embassy has made clear that it was not a strategy of operating military activities, there seems no need to doubt its intention.

He said that Nepal would find an easy channel to sell power produced in Nepal to India if the MCC was endorsed.
