MCC capable of serving nation’s interest: NCP Spokesperson Shrestha

GALKOT: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said the former UML and Maoist had already become history and the party could no more be operated on a division.

In his address to a press meet organized here today, the leader who is also the NCP secretariat member said a candidate for the post of Speaker at House of Representatives should be picked on the basis of competency.

“The UML and the Maoist parties have become history,” and the party would not run after the issue of division, he further argued.

On Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), he said, “Its contribution will be a positive one as it is in the favor of the interest of the nation.”

He expressed his confidence that the Deputy Speaker would resign to pave the way for the party to secure the post of Speaker.

The House impasse would end soon. The party would convince the Deputy Speaker to resign from the post so that it would create a post for the Speaker as per the constitutional provision.
