Province Sports Council to be formed soon



BIRATNAGAR: Province no 1 Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai has said the Province Sports Council would be established very soon.

He said so while inaugurating the Province Level First Taek-won-do Technical Seminar Course run by the ITF Taek-won-do Association here on Friday.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister praised the athletes for raising high the name and fame of the country in the global level by winning many titles following the establishment of federalism.

Chief Minister Rai said the Province Government has attached high priority to sports, and it has honored the national sports talents. He added that the government was working with the concept of constructing one stadium and allied sports infrastructures in each local level for the development of sports.

ITF founder district president Rishikesh Pokharel extended best wishes to all the sports persons in keeping the name of the country in the international sports competitions.

ITF central president Anjan Dhamala said the sports sector has been badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was the responsibility of the government and sports officials to revive the sports sector.

Two hundred athletes from five years to 23 years from 13 districts of the Province 1 are attending the training seminar.
