People huddle around fire as mercury dips across country  



KATHMANDU: Normal life has been affected in the Kathmandu Valley as the temperature went down to 1.6 degree Celsius on Saturday morning. This is the lowest temperature of the year in the Valley.

With the temperature going down across the country, people are seen taking to heater and huddling around fire at crossroads and in various places in the country.

According to Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), the north-western wind is currently causing an adverse weather in Nepal. Western and central parts of Tarai region are covered in thick fogs.

The temperature will rise up to 17.7 degree Celsius during the day today, according to a weather bulletin issued by the MFD.

Jumla has recorded minus 7 degree Celsius, the lowest temperature in the country, followed by Jomsom with minus 3 and Jiri with minus 3.5 degree Celsius.
