Two succumb to COVID-19 in Palpa, Rupandehi

BUTWAL: Two persons died of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours in Rupandehi and Palpa districts.

A 41-year-old woman receiving treatment at Lumbini Medical College in Palpa breathed her last this morning. Health Office’s Information Officer Om Prakash Panthi said that the woman from Tansen Municipality-14 was admitted to the hospital three days ago and the result of her swab test received on Friday evening confirmed coronavirus infection on her.

According to the Office, coronavirus infection claimed four lives in Palpa district so far.

Likewise, a 69-year-old man from Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-10 died while receiving treatment in Corona Special Hospital on Friday night, Lumbini Provincial Hospital’s Information Officer Dr. Bishnu Gautam said.

The man was receiving treatment at the hospital’s ICU bed for fever, pneumonia and respiratory-related sickness.

With this, a total of 21 people died of the Covid-19 disease in Rupandehi district.
