COVID-19 kills 120, 688, infects 2,263,634 in USA



WASHINGTON: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 747 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 120, 688.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 27, 907 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 2,263,634 so far.

Currently, 1,212, 163 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 16, 603 are critical.  Meanwhile, 930, 783 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 31, 092 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 12,927 and 7, 770 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 455,578 and infecting 8,570, 634 people as of Tuesday morning.
