KATHMANDU: The obstruction in waste disposal of Kathmandu Valley has been lifted for the time being.

The Kakani Rural Municipality had issued a statement banning the movement of vehicles other than ambulances and had also obstructed the dumping of garbage in Sisdole landfill site under the pretext of the same.

A meeting chaired by Kathmandu Metropolitan Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya with the people’s representatives of Kakani Rural Municipality has agreed to resolve the issue.

“The obstruction of waste disposal of the Valley has been lifted for the time being,” said Mayor Shakya, “As per the demand of the people’s representatives of Kakani and the locals, it has been agreed to test for coronavirus infection in the residents of Sisdole.”
