Number of quarantines increased in Banke

BANKE: Quarantines have been increased in Banke district in a bid to accommodate the increasing number of Nepalis coming from India of late.

District Health Office Banke’s coronavirus prevention, control and treatment focal person, Naresh Shrestha said that the number of quarantines in Banke has currently reached 41.

A total of 1,126 people — 1,073 are male and 53 are female — are currently staying in quarantine in Banke, Shrestha said.

According to him, eleven quarantines are constructed in Narainapur rural municipality in which 66 people are quarantined. Eight of them are found infected with the coronavirus.

One of the infected persons has died.

Likewise, five quarantines have been set up at Duduwa rural municipality in the district in which 168 people are quarantined.

Khajura and Baijanath rural municipalities have one quarantine each. While 24 people have been kept in quarantine at Khajura, 30 are quarantined at Baijanath.

Likewise, 119 are in quarantine at two facilities in Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City.

Similarly, 23 people are kept in the two facilities in Kohalpur municipality, 23 people in two quarantines at Janaki rural municipality, 74 people in one quarantine facility set up by the Nepali Army and 39 people are quarantined at the four quarantine facilities at Rapti Sonari rural municipality.
