China says cannot provide excavators to Nepal over Covid-19



KATHMANDU: The China government has informed that it is not able to provide excavators to Nepal this year due to Covid-19.

Sending a letter to the Ministry of General Administration, the Consulate General of Nepal in Tibet informed that the China government has canceled its foreign aid meant for Nepal.

Earlier, the China government had pledged to offer excavators each to 14 hilly districts boarding with China under its foreign aid program.

“The excavators cannot be provided to the hilly districts of Nepal since the aid requires to be prioritized for the other sector due to Coronavirus,” reads a press note.

The China government had pledged to provide excavators to the following 14 hilly districts adjoining China.

1.Phaktanlung rural municipality,Taplejug,

2.Sabhapokhari rural municipality, Sankhuwasabha,

3.Bigu rural municipality, Dolakha

4.Jugal rural municipality, Sindhuplachowk,

5. Gosaikunda rural municipality, Rasuwa

6.Rubi Valley, rural municipality, Dhading

7.Chumnubri rural municipality, Gorkha

8. Narpabhumi rural municipality, Manang

9.Lomanthang rural municipality, Mustang,

10.Talkot rural municipality, Bajhang,

11.Se Phoksundo rural municipality, Dolpa,

12.Mugum Karmaroad rural municipality, Mugu

13.Namkha rural municipality, Humla

14.Marma rural municipality, Darchula
