Covid-19 claims 22,745, infects 172, 434 in Italy



KATHMANDU: Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has witnessed 575 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 22,745 as of Saturday morning.

With 3,493 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 172, 434, the third highest in terms of infection cases, after Spain and America.

Currently, 106, 962 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 2,812 are critical. Meanwhile, 42,727 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 154,126 and infecting 2,248,037 people as of Saturday morning.
