Gangster Satyaman Lama lands in police net

KATHMANDU: Gangster Satyman Lama has been arrested in the capital.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police from Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj arrested Satyaman from Lazimpat area on Monday night.

It is learnt that Satyaman used to work as an accountant of gangster Dawa Lama.

Dawa is outside the country of late. According to police, Dawa has been operating criminal activities in Kathmandu by using Satyaman from his hideouts in Sikkim and Darjeeling of India.

Satyaman had been arrested on the charge of drug-trafficking and hooliganism in June, 2019.

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Nabina Lama had released him.

Satyaman was arrested after he quarreled with police under the influence of alcohol from Hotel Sangrila in Lazimpat.
