Food for the poor: From Khula Manch to Thapathali



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has said it has made available the open space behind the Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital in Thapathali to distribute food to the people who have been rendered jobless owing to coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier, food was distributed to the needy people at Khula Manch in Kathmandu.

The KMC has said people interested to distribute food can go to the ipen space in Thapathali.

Meanwhile, some of the voluntary organizations and clubs have already begun distributing food to the needy people in Thapathali from today.

Earlier, the KMC had barred organizations and volunteers from distributing food at Khula Manch saying that such activities were an “insult” to the local government, and that it insulted Kathmandu’s image.
