KATHMANDU:  Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has said the party is facing the toughest crisis at a time when the intra-party dispute of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has touched a new height.

Posting a twitter message on Wednesday morning, Minister Bhattarai, who is also the Standing Committee member of the party, said the NCP is undergoing through the most difficult phase.

It has been uncertain whether the Secretariat meeting scheduled for today will take place or not since the internal party dispute has reached a critical juncture.

Bhattari’s tweet has been viewed as meaningful.

The intra-party dispute has taken a new height after NCP Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal tabled a seven-page-long political dossier addressing Prime Minister KP Oli on last Friday.

Leaders loyal to Oli have been reiterating that no meetings will take place unless Dahal withdraws his political memorandum.

Dahal, senior leaaders Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal, Vice Chairman Bamdev Gautam and Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said they jointly submitted the memorandum, maintaining that they would not withdraw it.

The scheduled Secretariat meeting is likely to be hit today after Oli faction and Dahal-Nepal faction are sticking to their guns.

The SC meeting had been convened on November on November 13 after a majority of Secretariat members demanded the meeting in writing on November 7.

The meeting which briefly took place on Friday was postponed for Wednesday.
