Sharma proposes buying ventilators from Dashain allowance to MPs

KATHMANDU: Standing Committee member of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Janardan Sharma has proposed buying ventilators from the amount allocated as Dashain allowance to lawmakers.

He said that he would be donating his allowance to ex-combatants of Kalikot.

In a tweet on Sunday, Sharma said that ventilators should be bought instead of giving allowances to MPs during the coronavirus pandemic.

“The pandemic is our main problem. Let’s procure ventilators that doling out the allowance to lawmakers,” Sharma said in the tweet.
