Province 1 records 166 fresh coronavirus cases



BIRATNGAR: Province 1 recorded 166 coronavirus cases, including 100 in Morang, in the last 24 hours.

According to the provincial Ministry of Social Development, 56 people in Sunsari, eight in Jhapa and two in Udayapur were diagnosed coronavirus positive.

The coronavirus has been confirmed in 58 people in temporary capital Biratnagar. Of those infected, 25 are women and 33 are men.

Apart from Biratnagar, seven women, eight men in Katahari of Morang, four men in Pathari Shanishchare, one woman in Budhiganga, three men, one woman in Jahda, two men and one woman in Dhanpalathan, two men and one woman each in Rangeli and Belbari, one man each in Gramthan and Sundarharaicha have been found positive.

The reports of three women and six men of undisclosed local levels have come positive.

As many as seven women, 25 men in Itahari of Sunsari, two women and 10 men Barahakshetra, 10 men, one woman and eight men in Dharan, one woman and one man in Inaruwa and one woman in Harinagar have been infected.

According to the Ministry, the reports of three women and four men in Shivasatakshi of Jhapa, one man in Kankai, one man in Triyuga of Udayapur and one man at an undisclosed local level have been positive.

With the new cases, COVID-19 tally in Province 1 has reached 5,437 so far.

As many as 192 people have been discharged from on Friday. The number of people discharged after treatment in Province 1 has reached 2,432.
