KATHMANDU: Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted rains in many places of the country until Saturday.
With low pressure monsoon trough locating near the southern part of Nepal, heavy rains are expected in one or two places in Province 1, 2, 5, Bagmati Pradesh and Sudurpaschim Pradesh.
“The rain is occurring in most parts of the country due to the low pressure monsoon trough. It will continue until Saturday,” said Shanti Kandel, a meteorologist.
Meanwhile, MFD has urged people especially those living along the banks of rivers to take precaution saying that the floods might occur in these rivers. Similarly, landslides are likely to occur in the hilly region and land and air transport systems might be affected, said the MFD.
Even though the monsoon usually subsides on September 23 in Nepal, it is likely to exceed the date this year, added Kandel.
