Prohibitory order in Pokhara, Kaski



POKHARA: The District Administration Office, Kaski has issued a prohibitory order in Pokhara Metropolitan City and Kaski district starting Tuesday midnight after COVID-19 transmission has been reported in the community level.

The prohibitory order will be imposed until August 23 midnight.

A meeting of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee held on Sunday decided to bring into effect the prohibitory order.

Several participants in the meeting had even suggested to clamp curfew in Pokhara.

As many as 219 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Pokhara so far while four people have died of COVID-19. Authorities said a total of 90 people are in quarantines.

The decision to impose prohibitory order was aimed at preventing further spread of the deadly infection in the community level.

The local administration has also urged people in Pokhara and Kaski to stay indoors and go outside only in emergency.

According to the authorities, people found wandering unnecessarily would be brought to book.

Essential services and supplies such as health, electricity, security, telecommunications, food, medicine, petroleum products, fire brigade among others, however, can operate without obstruction.
