Mother-in-law, husband held for ‘murdering pregnant woman’

SIRAHA: A mother-in-law and husband have been arrested on the charge of murdering a pregnant woman.

District Police Office, Siraha arrested 20-year-old husband Diraj Das and 35-year-old mother-in-law Raj Kumari Das for their alleged involvement in the murder of 19-year-old pregnant daughter-in-law in Siraha municipality.

Chandar Das, the father of victim Kulatidevi, on August 12, had lodged a complaint at the DPO, Siraha alleging the mother-in-law and her husband for murdering her pregnant daughter.

Acting on the complaint lodged, police arrested them are now carrying out investigation into the case, said DSP Binod Ghimire of District Police Office Siraha.

Kulatidevi, 19, a three-month pregnant woman, was found death on August 11.
