42 APF personnel infected with COVID-19 in Chitwan

CHITWAN: As many as 42 Armed Police Force personnel have been infected with the coronavirus at Bhandara in Rapti municipality in Chitwan district.

Two among those infected are females, according to Bharatpur Hospital.

They were confirmed infected during their PCR tests at COVID-19 laboratory of Bharatpur Hospital.

All of them are the staffers of the Gadhimai Brigade of Armed Police Force-3.

The swab samples of other officials were collected after eight police personnel from the same Brigade tested positive for coronavirus earlier, said DIG Mandip Shrestha, chief of the Brigade.

Out 60 swab samples, 42 tested positive for coronavirus. Over 300 APF personnel are in the brigade, currently.

Preparations are underway to treat the infected by keeping them in isolations, said DIG Shrestha.
