Two minors drown in water-filled ditch in Baitadi



KATHMANDU: Two minor boys drowned in a water-filled ditch dug on an under-construction road in Baitadi district.

The deceased have been identified as 14-year-old Ankit Lawad and Sandip Lawad,11, of Dasharathchand municipality-2, Dehimandau.

The minors drowned in the water-filled ditch dug for laying hume pipe at Sundarkhali along Demandau-Giregada road section on Monday, said DSP Narayan Prasad Adhikari, chief of District Police Office, Baitadi.

The minors drowned in the ditch filled with water while they were playing at 4:30 pm yesterday. The ditch had been dug for laying hume pipe on the road.
