Security personnel clash with smugglers in Sunsari

DHARAN:  Armed Police Force personnel and smugglers have clashed with each other in Harinagar of Sunsari district on Friday night.

The confrontation between them took place after APF personnel tried to seize the goods being smuggled into Nepal from India.

APF personnel resorted to firing after the smugglers attacked the them with stones and tried to snatch away their weapons, said Chief of District Police Office, Sunsari Fadindra Mani Pokharel.

Sawaj Ansari,20, of Sunsari district has sustained injuries in the police firing.

Ansari is receiving treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
