KATHMANDU: Lawmaker of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Dinanath Sharma has asked India to return Nepal’s land that was robbed by the British from Nepal.

Speaking at the clause-wise discussion on the Constitution amendment bill to implement the new map including areas of Kalapani, Limpiyadhura, and Kalapani, he said India should return Nepal’s land, including Darjeeling, if it considered Nepal as its good friend.

Sharma claimed that India needs to return Darjeeling to Nepal and its territory up to Kangada, which the British had looted Nepal.

Speaking about Kalapani, NCP lawmaker Sharma said Nepal had given permission for the Indian army to establish temporary military posts there. “They were treated as guests. Now they have to return,” he said.

On the occasion, he also said the border dispute with India has to be resolved through diplomatic dialogue.
