KATHMANDU: Prof Dr Ganeshman Gurung was appointed the Chancellor of the proposed Gandaki University. Chief Minister of Gandaki State Prithvi Subba Gurung administered oath of office to the newly-appointed Chancellor of the university on Sunday.
A permanent resident of Sirubari village in Andhikhola Rural Municipality-1, Syangja, Prof Dr Gurung served as the Constituent Assembly Member and the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the past.
The Gandaki State government had formed a three-member committee headed by Social Development Minister Nardevi Pun to recommend the names for the post of chancellor.
