KATHMANDU: A complaint has been lodged with police against singer Astha Raut on Friday for practicing ‘indecent behavior’.

Police Constable Ramita Shrestha deployed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Security Office filed a complaint against the singer at Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office (MPCO), Ranipokhari.

She lodged the complaint saying that singer Raut showed an ‘indecent behavior’ to her during a security check at the airport on Wednesday.

In the complaint, she has demanded a maximum punishment as per existing laws.

Raut on Thursday had taken to social media to vent ire on a policewoman on duty at the airport.

Talking to Khabarhub, Raut had said that the policewoman used ‘inappropriate’ words to her while she was passing through the security screening process at the airport.

According to MPCO, an investigation into the complaint has started after studying CCTV footage and recording statements of other security personnel deployed at the airport.
