Senators sworn in; Trump impeachment trial on Jan 21

KATHMANDU: A preparation for the impending impeachment trial of US President Donald Trump has been done.

The 100 senators were administered the oath by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court John Roberts to “do impartial justice” on Thursday.

In the coming weeks, the senators will decide whether President Trump should be removed from office over charges brought by the House of Representatives.

The trial is scheduled to begin on 21 January.
