At a program organized by Lalitpur Metropolitan City on the occasion of the National Earthquake Safety Day on Thursday, noted expert on culture further recalled that they could easily relish the beauty of mountains around the Kathmandu Valley then.
The jungle of concrete has not only blocked people from seeing the mountains but also defaced the valley beauty, he added.
Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Gita Satyal, stressed the need of adherence to building code in order to minimize the earthquake risks.
Chief District Officer of Lalitpur, Bhagirath Pande, urged every to make quake resilient structures. Even a morning rally was organized to mark the Earthquake Safety Day in the district.
