Prachanda meets President Bhandari as dispute in NCP escalates

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has reached Sheetal Niwas on Tuesday to meet President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

The meeting is being held at the time when the Prime Minister KP Oli-led faction is making attempts to defer the Secretariat meeting slated for Wednesday.

Meanwhile, PM Oli held consultations with General Secretary and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel and Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel at the former’s residence in Baluwatar.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli had said that he wanted to convene a secretariat meeting but has been requesting to hold the meeting on a consensus.

As per the decision of the meeting, it is understood that President Bhandari and Chairman Prachanda will discuss the issue of waiting for some time for consensus and convening the meeting on consensus.
