Over 5,400 kids below 10 years infected with COVID-19 so far

KATHMANDU: More than 5,400 children under the age of 10 years have been infected with the coronavirus in Nepal.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, out of 210,976 infected people, 5,496 children have been infected with the coronavirus.

Of them, 2,250 are girls and 3,246 are boys, according to the ministry.

The highest number of 2,758 children under the age of 10 have been infected in Bagmati.

Likewise, 532 children have been infected in Province 1, 440 in Province 2, 250 in Gandaki, 571 in Lumbini, 210 in Karnali and 735 in Sudurpaschim Province.

In five districts including Taplejung, Solukhumbu, Tehrathum, Panchthar and Manang, no infection has been seen in children under 10 years of age.
