NEW DELHI: Police in New Delhi nabbed two suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists and foiled an attack in the capital last night.

Special Cell of Delhi Police made the arrests preventing a terror attack in Delhi, Indian media reports have said.

Authorities are currently questioning the two suspected persons arrested from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi.

Police said a trap was laid near Millennium Park in Sarai Kale Khan last night.

“Two suspected militants — residents of J&K — have been held along with two semi-automatic pistols and 10 live cartridges,” police officials said.

They have been identified as residents of Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Latif Mir, 22, and Ashraf Khatana, 20, of Hat Mulla village in Kupwara, according to the reports.

Sources claimed that the suspected terrorists had previously attempted to go to Pak-occupied Kashmir, which was foiled by the Indian Army.

They were planning to escape to PoK via Nepal after the attack in Delhi, reports said.
