Province 2 COVID-19 tally inches closer to 15,000-mark with 227 fresh cases



JANAKPURDHAM: Province 2 case tally has inched closer to the 15,000-mark with 227 new cases of coronavirus added on Saturday.

According to Dr. Kamalesh Yadav, a senior doctor at the Province Health Directorate of Province 2, the province coronavirus case tally has reached 14,847 till Saturday.

The province saw 227 new cases including 125 in Mahottari, 22 in Parsa, 18 in Dhanusha, 12 each in Sarlahi and Bara, 10 each in Rautahat and Saptari and 7 in Siraha.

Dr. Yadav informed that 11 swabs of the people outside the province also tested positive in Province 2 on Saturday.

According to Province Health Directorate, with 2,809 coronavirus cases in the district till date, Parsa has become the worst affected district of Province 2.

Likewise there have been 2m109 COVID-19 cases in Dhanusha, 2m023 in Rautahat, 1m955 in Sarlahi, 1m626 in Mahottari, 1459 in Saptari, 1,420 in Bara, and 1,401 in Siraha till date.

Likewise 222 people have been discharged after recovery today. With this the number of recovered cases has become 12,794 now.

With the death of a 50-year-old male of Saptari today, the province has witnessed 160 cases of coronavirus till date.

According to the province health directorate, there are 1,893 active cases currently.
