Nobel Medical College vandalized over patient’s death



MORANG: Tension has flared at Nobel Medical College in Biratnagar after a patient died in the course of treatment.

The kin of the deceased  manhandled medical persons after a 51-year-old Laxmi Kumari  Pokharel was pronounced dead soon after her admission to the hospital.

Originally from Biratnagar Metroplitan City-3, Pokharel was hospitalized after she complained of respiratory problems at 6:30 pm Friday.

Relatives manhandled the doctors and nurses and vandalized the emergency ward of the hospital complaining that the patient died due to the negligence of the doctors, said Narayan Dahal, manager of the hospital.

Meanwhile, Morang Police Chief SP Santosh Khadka said they are investigating the case after taking six demonstrators under control.
