Detainee at Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati diagnosed with COVID-19

KATHMANDU: A detainee doing time in police custody has tested positive for coronavirus.

The detainee has been admitted to Ayurveda Hospital based in Kirtipur after coronavirus infection was detected in him while he was in the custody of Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati.

Police had arrested him for his involvement in organizing online gambling.

He is an Indian national.

Meanwhile, swab samples of other detainees have been collected for PCR testing after he was diagnosed with the virus.

Earlier, Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati had been sealed after two police personnel tested positive for coronavirus in the last week of May.
