Minister Gurung pledges to set new era in social sector

KATHMANDU: Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, Parbat Gurung on Wednesday has vowed to bring a new era in the social sector.

Speaking during today’s session of the National Assembly (NA) while responding to queries during deliberations over the ‘Appropriation Bill-2077 BS’, Minister Gurung pledged to take measures to fight against all forms of discrimination existing in the society.

The government, he claimed, has adopted a policy of social transformation to end all sorts of discrimination in the country.

According to him, a campaign aimed at making the society self-sufficient by announcing Nepal a gender-friendly country had already been launched.

He said that the revision of curriculum right from schools was afoot to build a better society by eliminating all forms of discrimination.
