Health Ministry instructs referral of COVID-19 patients in coordination with respective hospitals

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has directed referral of COVID-19 patients only in coordination with the respective hospitals.

All hospitals have been directed to refer the infected patients in coordination with the respective hospital or doctors, said Joint Spokesperson for the Ministry, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari.

Lack of coordination before a referral leads to patients waiting for hours to get an admission and in such situation, patients may die due to lack of timely treatment, he said.
