CM Gurung directs CDOs to enforce lockdown more effectively in Gandaki Province



POKHARA: Gandaki Province’s Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung has directed the Chief District Officers (CDOs) in all 11 districts of the state to implement the lockdown orders in an effective manner.

In a video conference with the CDOs on Wednesday, Chief Minister Gurung also acquired information regarding the works carried out in the districts for the prevention, control, and treatment of COVID-19 and their status.

He also directed the CDOs to ensure that there is no shortage of essential goods in the districts during this adverse situation as well as to make provisions so that the agricultural products produced by farmers can be easily transported to the market and there is a smooth supply of fertilizer, seeds and animal feed.

Chief Minister Gurung during the video meeting apprised himself of the situation of the lockdown implementation, activities being carried out for prevention of coronavirus, the law and order situation and the food supply situation, among other issues, said Bikram Neupane, press advisor to the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister also expressed the Province government’s commitment to addressing any problems encountered in connection with these topics.

Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Kiran Gurung, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Hari Bahadur Chuman, and Social Development Minister Naradevi Pun also participated in the video meeting.
