Italy registers 21, 645 deaths, 165, 155 infection cases



KATHMANDU: Italy, the second worst-hit country in terms of deaths, has witnessed 578 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the number of death toll to 21, 645 as of Thursday morning.

With 2, 667 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 165, 155, the third highest in terms of infection cases, after Spain and America.

Currently, 105, 418 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the country, of which 3,079, are critical. Meanwhile, 38,092 have recovered after treatment.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 134,375 and infecting 2,077,839 people as of Thursday morning.
