US death toll climbs to 28, 506 after 2,459 die in 24 hrs



KATHMANDU: The death toll in the United States of America (USA) has reached 28, 506 after 2,459 died in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 29, 625 new cases, the number of infection cases has reached 643,508.

Currently, 566, 323 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which the condition of 13, 487 patients is critical.  Meanwhile, 48, 679 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 11, 586 deaths followed by New Jersey and Michigan with 3,156 and 1, 921 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a public health emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 210 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 134,375 and infecting 2,077,839 people as of Thursday morning.
