Five including police constable injured as firing goes in Panauti



KAVRE: Panauti in the district has been tensed after two persons died after being hit by a tipper.

Police Constable Dilip Budhathoki has been injured after an unknown person from the crowd opened fired at him. He is receiving treatment at Scheer Memorial Hospital.

Four protestors were also injured after police opened fire and lobbed tear gas canisters.

Tension ran high in Panauti after a police post was set on fire, according to Police Inspector Yogendra Timalsina.

Junimaya Gole, 27, and her child were seriously injured when they were hit by the tripper, Ba 5 Kha 5480. They died while undergoing treatment at Scheer Memorial Hospital.

Police have arrested the driver Nawaraj Thapa of Rosi Rural Municipality-6 and started an investigation into the incident.
