Rs 2.21 billion water project in Kavrepalanchowk



KAVREPALANCHOWK: Preparations to operate the Sunkoshi-Panchkhal mega drinking water project in Kavrepalanchowk district is in full swing, according to the project consumer committee.

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has already sent necessary documentation for the selection of contractors following the completion of bidding last week, according to Kumar Lamichhane, chairperson of the project consumer committee.

The government of Nepal, town development fund, ADB and consumers are the investors of the Rs 2.21 billion project.

An agreement to this effect was reached on August 29, 2019, among the town development fund, town water supply, and sanitation project, Panchkhal municipality and the consumers.

A survey is being conducted to construct a road to the project site at the Indrawati River at Bhumlu rural municipality-10 in the district.

The consumers are required to collect five percent expenditure amount (approximately Rs 110 million) of the total project costs.
