18 killed in Syria air strikes despite truce

DAMASCUS: At least 18 civilians have died in air strikes that hit a market and an industrial zone in the Syrian rebel-held city of Idlib, international media reports said.

Russian and Syrian government planes carried out the attacks, according to a monitoring group.

The air strikes occurred despite a ceasefire sealed earlier this month.

Idlib, the capital of the north-west province of the same name, is considered the last stronghold of rebel groups.
