Oli, Prachanda agree to withdraw allegations against each other

KATHMANDU: The high-voltage drama within the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) calmed down with Prime Minister KP Oli and NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal agreeing to reverse all decisions after September 11.

The two leaders have agreed to move ahead on the basis of consensus as agreed by the Standing Committee meeting on the same day.

The deepened crisis in the NCP has eased after PM Oli agreed to withdraw the ordinance on the Constitutional Council, and Chairman Dahal reciprocating to Pm Oli’s demand of withdrawing the signatures sent to the President’s Office demanding convening immediate session of the parliament.

Prime Minister Oli and Dahal were engaged in discussions at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar prior to the meeting of the party’s Standing Committee meeting on Wednesday.

In the second one-on-one discussion, Prime Minister Oli agreed to withdraw all the political decisions taken since September 11 along with the ordinance, according to a party source.

Likewise, the two leaders have also agreed to withdraw all charges and allegation against one another.

They have also agreed to dismiss all allegations and disputes after September 11, and withdraw all charges and prepare a new proposal through consensus.
