KATHMANDU: The Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has drawn the attention of the government, saying that a frightening situation has been created after community transmission of the coronavirus reported in the country.

In a press statement on Friday, it demanded that the government provide essential medicines easily.

“The association has drawn serious attention to the fact that the infection has entered the community level and created a dire situation,” said NMA General Secretary Dr. Badri Rijal in a statement.

The association has expressed sadness over the lack of beds, ICUs and ventilators, oxygen and remdesivir, and other essential medicines in the hospitals of the cities including the Valley.

The association has demanded that the government should be sensitive in this regard and take significant steps immediately.
